Skyrmion inertia in synthetic antiferromagnets

We describe the dynamics of magnetic skyrmions in synthetic antiferromagnets (SAF), with a finite interlayer coupling. Due to opposite gyrovector two SAF layers, coupled reach stationary regime spatial separation, direction orthogonal their velocity. As consequence, and contrary ferromagnetic situation, transient necessarily occurs, acceleration, related an inertia, that limits its time response. The formalism developed here, based on Thiele equations, allows quantitative description this phenomenon. constant associated scales inversely antiferromagnetic coupling constant. also show force reaches maximal value at skyrmion separation. This sets maximum velocity limit, beyond which cannot stabilize bound state.
